Summer is just around the corner and the San Luis Valley Arts and Entertainment Committee is hard at work organizing the 2010 Summerfest on the Rio, which will be June 4th, 5th, and 6th.

Each year we are committed to making the festival better than the year before. We strive to keep the art and craft vendors creative as well as hand made, the food vendors unique and competitive, the entertainment diverse and local and the crowds plentiful.

Not unlike everything else, we have seen the expense of the festival increase each year. As we have grown, we have been able to improve the power situation in Cole Park, contract larger acts, and implement a web site. We have much more we want to do. As we enter our 8th year, our goals for the 2010 festival are to book an extraordinary group for Friday night and multiple local and non-local groups for the remaining weekend.

We have been so fortunate to have had sponsors that share our goals. We want to invite you to become a sponsor for Summerfest on the Rio. This year we will expand our marketing to include Salida, Canon City, Pagosa Springs, Durango, Taos, Northern New Mexico, Pueblo and Colorado Springs.
