Now updated for 2010's 8th Annual Summerfest on the Rio!

Summerfest on the Rio was started in 2001 as a way to promote the San Luis Valley’s eclectic arts and crafts community. Since then, the annual festival has been held along the winding Rio Grande each year on the first full weekend in June, a kick-off to summertime in Alamosa’s spacious and picturesque Cole Park.
The fun begins Friday night, June 4th, with Summerfest’s signature Concert in the Park. On Saturday morning visitors return for delicious food, entertainment and activities provided by more than 150 vendors and food booths around the park. On Sunday Summerfest hosts a morning outdoor praise and worship service featuring local Christian bands a special way to begin a Sunday with neighbors and friends.
Summerfest weekend is jam-packed with live entertainers with something for everyone, from rock and roll, bluegrass, jazz, Mariachi bands, country, belly dancers, jugglers and more. We’re excited to offer the opportunity to feature local up-and-coming entertainers, news that’s been welcomed and encouraged by our community and its visitors.
