Summerfest on the Rio was started in 2001 as a way to promote the San Luis Valley’s eclectic arts and crafts community. Since then, the annual festival has been held along the winding Rio Grande on the first full weekend in June It’s a kick-off to summertime in Alamosa’s spacious and picturesque Cole Park.
The park opens up Friday June 1st at 4:00 p.m. This offers everyone a sneak peak to what the weekend offers. Unwind from a long week, walk along the park and enjoy the evening. Friday night is Summerfest’s signature Concert in the Park. Food vendors and the beer garden will be open. Saturday proves to be a big hit with the families. Beginning at 10:00 a.m. the vendors will be ready to go. There will be entertainment on two stages as well as throughout the park. There will be a large fireworks display following our last act of the evening. Sunday starting at 10:00 a.m., visitors return for delicious food, entertainment and activities with more than 125 art, craft, food and activity vendors.
Summerfest weekend is jam-packed with live entertainers and something for everyone with no admission fee. We’re excited to offer the opportunity to feature local up-and-coming entertainers, crafters and artists, amazing food, beer garden and activities for all ages.
